Stages of a Criminal Case
PRE-ARREST AND PRE-CHARGING REPRESENTATION. Often a person will know of a potential criminal charge before he or she is actually arrested and charged with a crime. In many cases, law enforcement agents will contact a suspect as a part of the criminal investigation. In those circumstances, Escobar, Ramirez & Associates= criminal lawyers assist our clients by speaking with the government investigators, meeting with prosecutors, and conducting our own thorough investigation in an effort to prevent charges from being filed. In many situations, Escobar, Ramirez & Associates, P.A. can prevent a client from being charged, or can convince the government to file less severe charges. In cases where the charge is pending but the client has not been arrested, Escobar, Ramirez & Associates, P.A. can arrange for the quick and convenient surrender of the client and secure an "ROR" (release on recognizance) or a reasonable bond in advance. The benefit to the client is in having one of Florida's top defense firms as a shield and advocate through the investigative process.
GRAND JURY INVESTIGATIONS. Escobar, Ramirez & Associates, P.A. represents individual and corporate entities in pending grand jury investigations.
EMERGENCY BOND HEARINGS. Upon an arrest, the most urgent goal is to obtain the release of a client. In most circumstances, the accused has a right to a reasonable bond and an emergency bond hearing. Escobar, Ramirez & Associates, P.A. has the ability to quickly obtain a bond hearing upon being retained by the client. Often, Escobar, Ramirez & Associates, P.A. can negotiate a stipulation from the prosecutor regarding the release of the client on reasonable conditions of bond.

The firm charges a review fee to throughly review the entire case and issue a written option for the client outlining all viable claims, and the likelihood of success in these matters. The review allows the client to throughly evaluate the expenditure of attorneys fees and the relative strengths of the case before deciding a strategy for pursuing potential post conviction matters.
